We partner with the Eduardo J. Aboitiz Cancer Center (EJACC) of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) and the Mactan Cebu International Airport for a mural named, Blooms of Hope. The mural serves as a reminder of the arduous journey that cancer patients undertake, emerging from the shadows of diagnosis and treatment into a life filled with newfound beauty and optimism.

At the heart of this artwork lies a powerful metaphor: the human spirit is likened to a flourishing flower, symbolizing the resilience of individuals confronting breast cancer. Amidst a vibrant profusion of blossoms, the presence of a woman prompts that life’s inherent beauty endures even in the face of formidable challenges. The ribbon-shaped cloth worn by the central figure symbolizes the relentless pursuit of a cure, early detection, education, and support.

This highlights the remarkable power of unity in adversity, encouraging our community to rally behind and support those affected by breast cancer.
Blooms of Hope is painted by emerging Visayan artists, Althea Pulvera, Beverly Catampo, and Marie Nelle Valmoria, under the curatorial of Alyssa Selanova.

This pink mural will be displayed at Gates 6 – 8 beside Bo’s Coffee in the T1 Departures Area, Mactan Cebu International Airport for the rest of October.
